sex sells, male models?

It is a commonly known fact that sex sells, and sexy women in particular.
The adverts live off the fact that men will be men, and they will perv.
So why is it that even now, in the age of women's liberation, not many companies have used this concept on women, and used men? With the exception of Calvin Klein, and Abercrombie and Fitch of course(just to name a couple.)

Photobucket

With this thought, I suggest we appreciate a few photos from Mario Testino and karl Lagerfeld, to, I'm sure, confirm the concept that sex sells, and it works both ways...

Although we have seen a rise in the use of male models, women are sure to always be the 1st choice!

BENOIT MELEARD

JUST discovered this designer, and wanted to share.
Benoit Meleard is a French shoe designer, with lots of innovative ideas.
His first collection was in 1994, and he has worked for many big names, such as Alexander McQueen, Helmut Lang and Jeremy Scott.

Photobucket

His latest collection is based on architecture, and is said to be a tribute to the designer Beth Levine.

Manolo Blahnik said this about the designer:
‘I just adore that young Frenchman Benoit Meleard. His stuff is just so architecturally beautiful: it has a touch of weirdness.’

Photobucket

He seems to be one of the unsung heroes of the catwalk shows!
Its people like this that emphasise the importance of being creative! what a boring world it would be without the creatives!!

MK OLSEN

First of all... I was shocked to find that when typing Mary-Kate's name into google it still came up with anorexia. She was diagnosed with the disease just after her 18th birthday, and is now 24. Although anorexia is said to have relapses, its sad to see that this is one of the things that haunts her in the media, rather than her success in the fashion industry for example.

Photobucket

You were one of the unlucky ones if you didn't enjoy the Mary-Kate and ashley so little time series, films, and books.
They're best book by far though is INFLUENCE:

This coffee table book is beautifully aesthetic, with images and interviews of the people and things that have influenced them in life, and in their fashion careers.
It is by far one of the best books on my shelves.

Lets take a few minutes to admire some beauts:

I haven't really payed too much attention to their collections The Row and Elizabeth and James, but had a little look today.
Although The Row is supposed to be the more high end, expensive collection, I was much more impressed with Elizabeth and James, which had a ton more imagination behind it's designs.

Simple lines, and colours. Makes me wanna scream- put a waist belt on it! I see no definition!!

These pieces have a much more youthful, fun feel about them. Definitely something I am much more likely to wear myself.

KARLIE KLOSS

The model Karlie Kloss is by far one of my favourites out of the younger models currently. Her effortless expressions, coupled with her long hair, and long long legs makes her perfect for both the catwalk and the magazine pages.
I first noticed her in a Teen Vogue magazine I bought from the airport a long long time ago in a shoot with Chanel Iman and Ali Michael in August 2006:

This apparently, was just the beginning!

Here are some images of the girl at work:

She was born in August 1992 in Chicago, but grew up in St Louis Missouri. She is a ballet dancer as well as a model, which surely gives her an advantage over other models.

She was first signed to Elite model managing, before moving to Next model managing in 2008.

She is 6 foot and a 1/2 inch, and is said to enjoy baking- and has sent cupcakes to say thank you to people in the industry in the past, such as Teen Vogue's Amy Astley.

That little BLUE dress

From watching the hills episode with Heidi and Spencer's wedding the one thing that most caught my eye was Lauren's dress as she discretely left the building.

A blue Red Valentino with a classic cut:

I found it on Polyvore.com for $611.

Photobucket

Here it looks much longer than it did on Lauren Conrad. Perhaps a little shortening?

She has continued with a long line of blue dress wearings:
